Tower Clock Eye Center’s Matthew Thompson, MD, recently traveled to Rwanda on behalf of FOCUS to provide ophthalmology students there hands-on surgical training and education. During his nearly two week long stay in Africa, Dr. Matt also performed surgery on several patients in need of his corneal and cataract expertise.
FOCUS’s campaign, No More Blind Babies, addresses the current epidemic of permanent blindness cause by Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), a disease that is rapidly increasing in the developing world.
