Tower Clock Eye Center is proud to announce a significant advancement in glaucoma care for patients across Northeast Wisconsin. Dr. Kurt Schwiesow, MD, has become the first surgeon in the region to successfully implant the iDose® TR implantable drug delivery system, bringing a new level of innovation and convenience to glaucoma treatment.
A Breakthrough in Glaucoma Management
Glaucoma is a chronic, progressive eye disease that can lead to vision loss if not properly managed. Traditionally, treatment has relied heavily on daily prescription eye drops to control intraocular pressure. While effective, this approach can be challenging for many patients due to strict dosing schedules, side effects and difficulty maintaining consistency.
The iDose TR represents a transformative shift in how glaucoma can be treated.
This tiny, implantable device is placed inside the eye during a minimally invasive procedure performed by a trained ophthalmic surgeon. Once in place, it continuously releases medication over an extended period—helping to control eye pressure without the need for daily drops.
