Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery

What Is Astigmatism?

The skin and tissues around the eyes naturally change over time. Loss of elasticity, changes in fat distribution, and changes in the position of the eyelids and eyebrows can contribute to a tired or aged appearance.

Cosmetic eyelid surgery is designed to address these changes while preserving the natural appearance and function of the eyelids.

Depending on your individual anatomy and goals, cosmetic treatment may involve:

  • Upper Blepharoplasty: Remove excess skin and fat of the upper eyelids
  • Lower Blepharoplasty: Decrease puffiness or bags beneath the eyes
  • Ptosis Repair: Restore the natural height and opening of the upper eyelids
  • Brow Lift: Restore the natural height of the eyebrow and decrease crowding around the eyes
  • Fat Grafting: Natural volume restoration to improve facial contours

The goal is not to make every patient look the same. Instead, Dr. Jack Komro creates a custom treatment plan for each patient based on their unique features. As with all patients, Dr. Komro aims for a refreshed, balanced, and natural result.

What to Expect at Your Eyelid Surgery Consultation

Your first appointment is an opportunity to understand what is causing your eyelid concerns and determine which treatment options may be appropriate.

Dr. Komro will evaluate the eyelids and surrounding structures while considering your vision, eye health, facial anatomy, and goals. For patients with vision concerns, the evaluation may also help determine whether eyelid changes are affecting the visual field or normal eye function.

Not every patient who is concerned about their eyelids needs surgery. Depending on your goals and individual needs, Dr. Komro may recommend surgery, a nonsurgical treatment, or simply monitoring the condition.

Frequently Asked Questions About Eyelid Surgery

Reconstructive eyelid surgery addresses problems that affect vision or normal eyelid function to the point that your insurance company would consider helping with the cost of intervention.

Cosmetic eyelid surgery is performed to improve the appearance of the eyelids and surrounding area. Age-related changes to the eyelids and brows can make you look older, tired, sad, or angry. Typically cosmetic surgery is pursued when you desire a more refreshed and natural appearance, so you look closer to how you feel.

Some patients have both reconstructive and cosmetic concerns, and a single treatment plan may address both.

If you are concerned about your appearance or are looking for refreshed eyelids, contact Tower Clock Eye Center to schedule a consultation.
