Optician

Tower Clock Eye Center is hiring for a full-time optician position. Candidates must provide excellent patient and customer service in the selection, ordering and dispensing of eyewear; prepare work orders for optical labs; process medical billing information; and maintain frame inventory.

Customer Service

• Provide excellent customer and patient service according to Tower Clock Eye Center standards
• Analyze patient eyewear needs
• Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to satisfy patient needs and wants
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color. Ensure frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions
• Order and dispense eyewear accurately and professionally
• Assist patients with proper frame repairs and adjustments
• Show patients how to insert, remove and care for their contact lenses

Business And Operational Standards

• Be part of a team and work well with coworkers
• Maintain a complete knowledge of third-party plans and claims
• Explain promotions and special lens offerings to patients and customers
• Balance accounts
• Prepare work orders containing specific instructions for optical labs
• Process medical billing information
• Ensure proper merchandising of frame inventory

Minimum Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Monday through Friday hours, no evening or weekends.
• Previous experience in an office and/or optical dispensing is preferred, but we will train the right candidate
• Able to multitask/handle multiple customer interactions/phone calls at a time
• Able to work with patient eyewear needs including analyzing prescriptions, repairs and adjustments and lifestyle dispensing

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates/Eligibility:

Current Wisconsin R.N. license and BCLS required, ACLS preferred.  Prefer two (2) years experience as an operating room nurse preferred.  IV skills preferred.

From $17.00 per hour, or more depending on experience
